Highly esteemed for her work in the community, Maizie has assisted Atlanta charitable and cultural causes including the Atlanta Symphony Ball, the Swan House Ball to benefit the Atlanta History Center, the Piedmont Ball to benefit Piedmont Hospital, the Norman Rockwell Gala to benefit the High Museum of Art, the Candlelight Ball to benefit CADEF: The Childhood Autism Foundation, and Share Our Strength (SOS) Taste of the Nation to feed the hungry.
Maize's involvement extends in the business sector with her membership in the Buckhead Business Association, the Georgia Hospitality and Lodging Association, the Les Dames d'Escoffier. Maizie is former regional director of the Atlanta Chapter of the Fashion Group International In. and currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
Her associate membership in the SATW (Society of American Travel Writers) complements her position as former co-chair of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF).
